Hyderabad: HCLTech, a leading global technology company, announced the expansion of its IT footprint in Hyderabad with the launch of a new tech centre. The announcement was made during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on January 20, 2025. This new centre will provide cutting-edge cloud, AI, and digital transformation solutions to global clients across industries such as hi-tech, life sciences, and financial services. New Center to Boost Hyderabad’s Position as a Leading IT HubThe new 320,000 sqft tech centre, located in Hyderabad’s Hi-Tech City, will house 5,000 IT employees. It has been awarded the Gold Certification by the Indian Green Building Council, reflecting HCLTech's commitment to sustainable business practices. The centre is expected to play a vital role in delivering innovative solutions while contributing to the local technology ecosystem. C Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director of HCLTech, said, “Hyderabad has been a key location in our global network, and this new centre will further enhance our capabilities and support our global client base.” He also invited the Chief Minister and IT Minister to inaugurate the facility next month. Hyderabad's Growing Appeal for Global IT FirmsChief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed HCLTech’s expansion plans, talking about how the new tech centre strengthens Hyderabad’s position as a leading IT hub globally. Meanwhile, IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu shed light on the state government's commitment to boosting the tech and innovation ecosystem in Hyderabad, especially in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, with a focus on creating local job opportunities. HCLTech, which has been present in Hyderabad since 2007, now operates five centres across the city, offering a total of 8,500 seats.
