Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to meet Microsoft founder Bill Gates and several other global executives, while Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has said he is keen on investment in areas such as electric vehicles, semiconductors, pharma and infrastructure. Follow the live updates here: The World Economic Forum on Tuesday had announced Schwab Foundation Awards for 18 social entrepreneurs and innovators from 15 organisations across 13 countries, including India. The 18 leaders from 15 organisations are values-driven entrepreneurs pioneering transformative business, social development and environmental models that are helping build a more equitable and sustainable world, it said. Awardees in the social entrepreneurs category included Akshay Saxena, Co-Founder of Avanti Fellows, a non-profit that aims to provide equitable access to India’s top science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) colleges. World Economic Forum announces Schwab Foundation Awards for 18 social entrepreneurs and innovators from 15 organizations across 13 countries. Maharashtra achieved a milestone on the first day of the World Economic Forum in Davos, securing investment agreements worth ₹6,25,457 crore. Among the key announcements, the Tata Group committed to investing ₹30,000 crore in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Fadnavis met Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran during the summit and highlighted the state’s strategic advantages for expanding their operations. -ANI European leaders at the WEF put a big focus on the fight against global warming after Donald Trump’s executive order directing the U.S. government to pull out of the Paris climate pact — again. Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Union’s executive branch, called the 2015 accord “the best hope for all humanity” and vowed: “Europe will stay the course, and keep working with all nations that want to protect nature and stop global warming.” The voluntary pact aims to limit long-term global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels or at least keep temperature rises well under 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 Fahrenheit). -AP Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to meet Microsoft founder Bill Gates and several other global executives in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, officials said. On the third day of his visit to the Swiss resort town, the Chief Minister will also meet the officials from the World Economic Forum (WEF), they added. “The chiefs of Unilever, DP World Group, Petronas, Google Cloud, Pepsi and AstraZeneca are going to meet the CM. The CM will also hold discussions with Bill Gates and WEF representatives,” a press release said. Moreover, Andhra Pradesh is expected to ink an agreement with renewable energy player Greenko and the CM is scheduled to attend roundtable conferences on topics such as organic farming, human mission calibration and green hydrogen, and renewable power, the release added. The CM will promote ‘Brand Andhra’ and showcase investment opportunities in the state, it said. Read more here.
