New Delhi: The BJP on Thursday demanded the lieutenant governor's intervention regarding the renaming of the " CMO Delhi " handle on X to " Arvind Kejriwal At Work", allegedly at the behest of the former chief minister. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva urged LG VK Saxena to seek a report from the IT department on the renaming of the handle and its alleged use by the former Delhi chief minister. In response, AAP said that BJP must stop making baseless allegations against AAP and focus on governing Delhi. "AAP ensured that Delhi gets 24/7 electricity. This should not be disrupted," it said. The BJP returned to power in Delhi after 26 years, defeating AAP. The BJP's govt is yet to be formed. "It would not be an exaggeration to say that as soon as his corrupt govt collapsed, Arvind Kejriwal also became a digital looter," Sachdeva said. He condemned Kejriwal for allegedly renaming the CMO's official handle, created using public funds, for his own use. Demanding that the LG stop the use of the handle allegedly by Kejriwal, Sachdeva said that around 1 million people were its followers. "By orchestrating this digital heist, Arvind Kejriwal not only misused govt resources but also compromised people's private information, for which he must face legal action," he said. Newly-elected BJP MLA Vijender Gupta said the truth about Kejriwal was coming out. "Kejriwal made a futile attempt to hide his failures by removing old videos of assembly sessions and govt programmes from the official YouTube channel of Delhi govt," Gupta said in a statement. The same Kejriwal who used to talk about transparency is today getting govt digital documents deleted for fear of his "lies and failures" being exposed, he added. Gupta said Kejriwal, having lost the New Delhi contest, was out of work and had turned the CMO page into "Arvind Kejriwal at Work" to create the illusion that he is working. He said that AAP must accept the verdict and stop treating govt property as personal assets. He urged the LG to take immediate control of the govt's digital assets and hold those responsible for the misuse accountable under the law.
