Godavari Biorefineries Ltd. engages in the manufacture of ethanol based chemicals. It operates through the following segments: Sugar, Cogeneration, Bio-based Chemicals, and Distillery. The Sugar segment produces, sells, and exports sugar products under Jivana brand. The Cogeneration segment offers electricity through the generation of steam and power produced from biomass. The Bio-based Chemicals segment includes ethyl acetate, bio-ethyl acetate, butylene glycol, crotonaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetic acid, bio-acetic acid, and paraldehyde. The company was founded by Karamshibhai Jethabhai Somaiya and Shantilal Karamshibhai Somaiya in 1940 and is headquartered in Mumbai, India.
