STOX seeks total return by blending US stocks of any size with tactical options strategies. Security selection is based on economic, quantitative, and fundamental analysis, targeting exposures to factors like growth, value, momentum, quality, size, and volatility. The strategy aims to maximize the expected return for a given level of risk. The fund employs FLEX options, primarily put spreads on broad-based indices or ETFs to generate premiums while limiting losses through protective long puts, though this can increase volatility. STOX may also use single-stock options, covered calls, cash-secured puts, spreads, straddles, collars, and naked options. The options strategy may outperform in stable or rising markets due to net premium gains but can lag in downturns, though losses are capped below the purchased puts strike.
