The fund aims to provide a secure, convenient, and cost-effective way to invest in Solana, avoiding the complexities of direct investment. Solana is recognized for fast, low-cost transactions compared to Ethereum but faces criticisms over network outages and hacks. SOL is volatile, influenced by regulatory shifts, tech advancements, and market sentiment. The knock-on effect of buying into the fund is the potential financial reward, but also, supports network operability. Purpose is leveraging its in-house validator infrastructure, for rewards and potentially lowering costs. Initially, the fund targets staking up to 50% of its Solana holdings. The fund does not engage in short-term speculation or non-hedging derivatives. The fund hedges US currency exposure for CAD ETF Currency Hedged Units using forward contracts. It plans limited short-term borrowing for Solana purchases under NI 81-102 rules.
